Flying birds

I've been practising flight shots again - they are so hard. Yesterday the whistling kites flew above me, so I think they were circling the nests. They were too close for my lens! I didn't see the Australian hobbies.
Today I went to the model airfield and took lots of photos of model aeroplanes and helicopters - good practice for tracking birds and just as frustrating! But I got more good images of aircraft than I do of birds.

I think this is a bird of prey but can't find which one has a brown underwing with white tips

Hi Birdgirl
Your Bird of Prey is possibly a Swamp Harrier.
They tend to fly low over swamps and open ground, with wings held fairly flat.
Check these images from the COG Gallery

i thought the raptor at first glance was a swamp harrier. Specifically for the reasons dennis mentioned.

Forgot to thank Denis and Steve for the ID. That's really exciting, because now I've seen 4 birds of prey at that location - whistling kites, black-shouldered kites, Australian kestrels and now swamp harriers
