Golden Bowerbird

Golden Bowerbird. Birthday Creek, Paluma, I think maybe the most photographed wild Golden Bowerbird in Oz.

Just up the track from the Toothbills stage is a GB bower. It was damp and dark, the love/hate relationship between my flash and camera kicked in, I dialed in some silly compensation (should really keep my glasses on…) resulting in some fairly dark shots, they have been somewhat rescued in an editing program.

Great shots Ed, despite your settings!!
Love the decoration one especially. I have never seen a bowerbird of any description except at the Oz Zoo aviary.

They look very nice at this size regardless Ed. Shooting in a dark rainforest the flash is your best friend, even though shots may end up looking like you have taken them at night, which you most likely didn't. Congrats! :)
