Birdie we have both cats (my wifes!) and blue wrens but then we do have a few acres of gardens for the wrens to hide in.
You just need a bigger garden.
Can't do anything about that Greg, as we are renting. But I am fortunate to have the use of the stormwater easement (that is bush covered)and runs alongside our house as a rocky stream, this is where the Catbirds are nesting , and the zillions of different birds hang out. It has tall trees and some under storey so they have a place to retreat to. I have had scrub wrens, quite a few Lewins, and the odd female whistler and a shrike thrush but not anything like a wren here.Apart from that it is mainly larger birds that frequent my garden .... catbirds, butcher birds, noisies, lorikeets, Pale headed Rosellas, Pheasant Coucal, Spangled Drongos etc... I can't complain as I love them all :) The wrens are nearby I know as I don't have to walk far to find them. I get all excited when i hear their twittering coming from a patch of scrub or bush.
You are so lucky to have those delightful creatures flitting around your garden! But then again.... you obviously don't own a cat!
Nice pics :)
