This photo may be the first sighting of a rare bat-eared bird or an entry for the weirdest shot of the year.
To give some idea of the size of the bird, it is perched on an overhead power line. Like many of my photos it was taken in early daylight whilst I was walking my dog. It seemed to have a nest on a street light bracket on a power pole.
