This was taken last week when the temperature was in the high 30s. I think this is a juvenile; there have been a lot of baby kookaburra noises around lately!

What a nice shot. Nice to have young around. We had some. They make lovely begging noises, I like it when they wake you up at 5 o'clock in the mornings.Much earlier than your alarm clock does. LOL. Thanks for sharing soakes, M-L

Great shot Soakes. Nothing better i reckon than the sound of a laughing Kooka.
Brilliant shot. Lovely composition. You can feel the heat from looking at the Kookaburra's gaping mouth.
