Unfortunately this Female Huntsmen that I fed for a year, and played tug of war with her with insects, was unceremoniously snaffled up by me little mate Shrikey. He flew up past me and ignored the moth on offer.
Before I knew what was going on, Shrikey had grabbed her from the kitchen window, flew down to me feet, bashed her to death and ate the poor thing. I really miss Spidergirl.
As you can see in the photo, I am giving her a gentle stroke on her silky little bum.
Huntsmen petrify me. I honestly think I will die of a heart attack one day from one of these. Always see them when I least expect them. Like when I was unboxing my new tv I got from Aldi and it came out of the box or when I was driving and it started walking along the steering column.
Aren't they dangerous? They seem to have some pretty vicious fangs.

Hi abeleski, OooooH, all spiders attack, especially the Aldi- Huntsmen!!LOL I love spiders. When I was 6, I took one to school in a box, to show to the teacher.The girl next to me wanted to see it. When I opened the box, the spider jumped out. All the girls screamed and jumped on the tables.The teacher simply stomped on the poor spider and killed it. I was so angry,I yelled and hit the teacher.I almost got expelled from school for it, had to be saved by my mother! (to that I might have to add, she bought me icecream for standing up for the spider!)So, you would have been on top of the table,yes?

Araminta: If I knew he was there it would be ok but the surprise and their size is what gets me. I have taken a few photos of them after I have seen them thats no problem. But no way am I ever going to try and pat one like AuzzieChirp is doing. Maybe its cause of all the macro shots I have taken of their fangs and in my mind they are king kong size.

Its just a line that I read a long time ago that has been stuck in my mind as I agree with it. Don't think of it as a dark though. Its just the basics of what life is is how I look at it. Its ok, I am not suicidal. I am getting there though. Nikon service is really bad. Still no lens. 2 weeks they havent even looked at it. Sorry for the offtopic talk AuzzieChirp.
