We noticed and photographed this Jacan distraction display on Sunday at Lake Gregory. We assumed we were close to a nest and paddled toward where we thought it was for a quick look when I looked down and saw it only a few feet from the boat. Needles to say we took a couple of very quick shots and left them alone.

Lake Gregory is?.... and were you in a canoe or fishing in a boat or boating for the purpose of birdspotting?

Thanks All. Lake gregory is near the elliott river off the isis highway near bundaberg. It's a holding dam for the irrigation system. Yep I was in a boat with no fishing gear. Since then I have addapted my hide to sit in the boat so if I can sneek off without my wife so there is only one in the hide I am hoping to get closer so I can get better shots.
