Well, it was a good weekend for birdspotting. I saw some lovely silvereyes, blue wrens, various honeyeaters - even a cormorant on the river as well as the usual array of characters - mostly when I didn't have my camera or too far away for a good shot. Here are a few that I did manage to get:
The now-regular King Parrot:
A somewhat bedraggled Kookaburra:
It's not often I see a white cockatoo this close:
...and included here just because it also starts with a "K" :-) I assume this is some sort of cormorant?

Good work soakes. That cocky is a great shot. Your cormorant is a Great Cormorant, they seem to be a little less common than the others.
Cheers, Owen.
Good stuff Soakes, love the parrots especially . Nice catch of the cocky....it was posing for you!

Ha ha, yes it was posing. I took a few more photos of it but that one was the best pose.
Thanks for the ID, Owen.
Here are a couple more. First, the competition between the king parrots and the crimson rosellas results in some wing motion:
...and a crimson rosella:

I love the Rosella landing,(or take off?). Beautiful the colours of the wings! Your lawn (???) looks a lot like mine, LOL. Very "not so English". M-L

Lovely to see your birds. We have the most amazing parrots in oz, don't we?
