I mentioned in an earlier thread 'Kookaburra and Lorikeets' about the two Lorikeets who can't make up their mind as to whether they would prefer being in captivity or a life in the wild....at the moment they're in compromise mode.

"C'mon let us in"
"Are you going in?"

This is them with the other resident
This one of their favourite games, swinging on the cords which hang from our external bamboo blinds.
thatlast shot is brilliant shaka.
i just love lorikeets and how playful and cheeky they are
although i don't like them when they get in our apple tree and cause much destruction.
your two look very tame and wouldn't be surprised if they flew straight in when you opened the door!
Cheers, Owen.
Beautiful photos. Love the comment on the last photo lol.
Adorable...by the way, lovely backyard too. :)
Great shots Shaka, love the last one especially.
They are brave and friendly, but so aggressive I don't know why people choose them as pets. We had one hopping across the grass trying to shoo a corella away the other day. I don't know why it was defending the lawn (especially ours, which is very sad)
Thanks for the comments guys....you're quite right Owen when you said they could fly straight in, sometimes I've got to use the side door to go out for just that reason. They are extremely territorial and aggresive as you mentioned Birdgirl, they chase off any other lorrikeets which dare to venture near our backyard; but they don't mind the kestrel which has been around our place just as long (that's the kestrel sitting on the apex of our pergola pic#4) - Shaka
Great photos! Love how they get so intimidated by other birds. Today I saw one sharing a tree with a bunch of noisy minors. The lorrie was on top of the branch and the minor was hanging on the bottom. The rainbow lorries was bending over to take a peak and he looked so strange. Weve got thousands of them here at the moment, they should start an orchestra in the morning.
Hi cooee, sorry, you must have told me before, but excuse an old bird, where do you live again? (I could go through all your posts, but it's easier like this!)

Beautiful photos Shaka.
