Was at Wentworth falls lake today, beautiful weather for being out & about. This lovely coloured Mallard was just swimming around. Really nice colour on his head & his up curled tail.

I really like the composition of your photo and how the curled tail and the iridescent green of the head is very clear. I have seen many of these ducks before but I did not know the mallard had a curly tail until today. Thanks for sharing.

In SA we have quite a few Pacific black duck - mallard crosses. Their interbreeding is wrecking the black duck gene pool. Do you guys up north have this problem?
