Hi kathiemt, is the middle one a rufous whistler? lovely shot I'll have to look out for that one when I'm there next. I see you are knew to the area (in another post), have you tried Grants picnic ground near you? great place for Lyrebirds. Might see you there one day or Lysterfield lake :)
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
Yes, the middle one is a Rufous Whistler. The top ones are yellow robin chicks I think. Don't know what the bottom one is. I'm often at Lysterfield and have taken some Yellow Striped Black Cockatoos (I've posted some here on another thread)but I have been at Grant's Picnic Ground too and have some great shots of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, and a number of other birds. But I haven't seen a Lyrebird yet.
Let me know when you think you might be there next Hev. I'm usually there on a Saturday or Sunday morning - my husband is a mountain biker.
Hi Kathiemt yes will give you a shout when next going there.Great.
In Sherbrooke forest if you walk from Grants on the lyrebird track there is a clearing ...the lyrebirds tend to be around that area, foraging in the bush, I have been there when they have been roosting which is interesting to observe...but don't do what I did... watch too long and have to come back in the dark... that track is not good for walking along in the dark!

Thanks Hev, will remember about the track and the dark :-)
Thanks for naming that last bird - I wasn't sure what that was either.
