Nankeen kestrel

Hi everyone
I went out this morning to look for birds of prey and found this female nankeen kestrel. In the first 2 photos I think she has a prey item and is passing it to her beak. The wind and sun were so strong that my eyes were crying as I tried to focus, but a bird of prey is always worth it.

Yep, love number 3 especially Birdgirl. I still haven't had a chance to go looking for any, though I did see the Loris herding one out of their territory this morning while I was walking the dog. I just don't know how to ID them. I found a post on Denis Wilson's blog that has an easy way to ID for the 5 most common ones, so I will have to study it.

Well done and lucky you!

cheers

Ha ha , wish I could take the credit conspirator, but these were all down to Birdgirl2009. The day I get a BOP on here EVERYONE WILL KNOW as I will be shouting it from the rooftops.
LOL
My record with them is dismal.

Cheers
