The best birds are still in my own backyard. From this morning.
Waiting to be fed:
calling louder:
could clean up a bit,
I'm still waiting...
...who ever the bird waited for, never turned up! M-L

How did you get so close!? Great detail.
Cheers, Owen.
I have to say, that's the one thing I'm good at, I can get close to those birds. I have been observing them for days, they mostly go to the same spots in the same shrubs.I just stand and wait, try not to move, and wait some more....They will turn up! For these ones I waited about 20 minutes in the same spot. I was about 2m away from the bird. M-L

great shots araminta
Great shots ML. We just sit in our backyard we can so close to them as well you can almost touch them. We have families of them in our yard. I adore them. We have hundreds of shots of Nh. Well done again.
Come on Cath and Shane, post some of your shots! I love them, I don't want to be the only one, we want to see yours. Hope you are well? M-L

i must say,the NH honeyeater was the first bird i identified, about 5 years ago,and they started the whole ornithology thing,so they're really quite special to me
