We passed the Wedgey feeding on the side of the road on the road to Normanton. I turned the car and van around and drove back slowly taking pics as I got closer. This one was about 8 metres away. He took off into a tree just after, but not too far away, so I assume he was coming back.

Thanks Guys

I googled - macgillivrayi 'Cloncurry Ringneck'

as suggested, and found more pics. That is definitely the parrot.

They are beautiful to see.

The Wedgetails were not plentiful on our trip. I only saw 2 in 1000 km or driving, but that was just from the road. There are heaps of these other hawks or kites up here that I am yet to identify aswell. They have swallow tails and are mottled brown.

Will get a pic up soon.

Thanks for the help and welcome!
