Hi there - Scott wanted to check out a few pics of this gorgeous bird that we discovered for the first time today at our local park in Tennyson in SE Qld (across the river from St Lucia Scott)!
Sorry about the quality - but you get the idea about how amazing this bird is - I'm a little bit enthralled by her now!!

Thanks for posting them!
Not sure if you could google it and hear a sound clip of their call, but it's a sort of double-whistle type call from memory. Learn it and you might find them more!
Cheers again for posting the story and photos,
Scott :)
They are beautiful birds - never seen one (yet). We were however in Tennyson/Gracemere today and spent a bit of time wandering around the area in (vain) hope of seeing one of the crested hawks. It is an attractive place though, lots of greenery, and we had an enjoyable walk. Maybe they'll be there next time. Thanks for showing us the photos Elah and Araminta.

It sure is a beautiful bird. I've only seen one once. Good spotting
