These are the Pacific Bazza chicks from last season. Since these were taken the adults have built a new nest in an even better location in the tree right outside my kitchen door.
These chicks had me captivated for weeks, especially when they began to come out of their nest and explore the tree limbs around them. The goings on when mum or dad came to feed them was great to watch as well.
The only downfall is that my beloved frogs and stick insects have strangely disappeared. The circle of life.
Nice shot and great visitor. The Bazas love frogs and insects so no surprise they all disappeared!
Cheers, Owen.
Very nice photo, like Owen said. With your permission, I could post it here for you? M-l

Nah that's cool
Gouldy you have just about got it, you just chose the wrong size to copy and paste. try the 500 size if you are using Flickr and that should be right.

Wow you are so lucky. I would love to have any BOP nest in our trees (although I would have to hide our mice adn maybe even our cat and dog). The nest seems small for a BOP
Cool photos. I have only seen these birds once and that was only because I heard their call first. I am so jealous!! ^_^
They have a very distinctive call.
Pichoo Pichoo Pichoo
and their is another noise they make but I can't even attempt to write it.
I meant to type there not their. I'm a bit of spelling nerd.
LOL I heard the pichoo sound. When I heard it I thought 'what is that and why is it saying pikachu with two syllables?' LOL
Interesting photos - great to have them so close to your home.
