NIce shots Wanda. They build in the ground Owen, they make a hole with a nice chamber about one meter inside and line it with strips of bark and other soft materials. You can get good shots of them if you stand quietly near the nest hole, as they are generally a quiet easygoing species, tolerant of human presence. I have a number of shots on my web gallery I took near nest sites and they never had an issue with me being near. The last time I found them in spring, the female was shyer than her mate, and would not come down the branch too close prior to flying in to feed the young. One thing you will note is that they use the same branches as a final stop (kind of a safe last look out perch) before entering the nest. :-) good luck in your adventures....
Well done Wanda, we caught one in it's home on Saturday. It's very rewarding to see them at work.
