Hi everyone
Today I tried to get some good shots of our parrots. The eastern rosellas were in and out of the yard all day - I hope that means they are going to nest. They don't usually go to the feeder but eat the seeds from the pink surprise grevillea.

Parrots in our backyard
As always the pics from your back yard never cease to amaze me, top stuff Birdgirl.
The soft lighting on the Galahs gives them such a nice softness and tone. Well done. I like the one of the Juvenile the best, but they are all very nice.
They certainly have 'long bills'
We have a pair of Galahs here that regularly check the seed bowl to see if I have left them anything.
I generally feed mine once a week, and between the 28's galahs and magpies it generally doesnt last too long.
The splendid fairy wrens here are also regulars to the seed bowl, but I am not sure whether they are eating the small seed, or any insects that are in the seed.
Tassie - The backyard is a great place to practice. It's cheating to have them come to the feeder, but allows me to look at different lighting and get the close ups I love.
Gelmir - I am not a morning person at all, so have been taking photos using the afternoon light. It gives the galah pink a rich look and makes the corellas look a bit golden. These were taken at about 6:30 pm. I love seeing the small details like the individual feathers in the crests or body, and the lines in the blue around the corella's eyes.
Daggert - We feed at irregular times, sometimes with long gaps between, so they don't become dependent on us. But if we do put seed out, they are often there in less than a minute, so I think we are on their flight path. Have you got any wren photos? I find they won't let me near enough to get a good photo.
Here are some more from the same day
Birdgirl, I posted some more wrens in the 'some of mine' thread
