Plumed Egret

Baldwin swamp last week had a few egrets feasting on the high tide. Pretty quiet in here lately that's for sure so thought I would post a couple. Hope I got the id right.

HI Trev
Top shots it looks to me to be an Intermediate Egret as the yellow under the eye dosn't go past its eye the Great Egret the colour go's past its eye.

Great timing, lovely shot, graceful bird isn't it? the fish looks blue?!

Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best

Baldwin Swamp environmental Park, in Bundy. I dfon't like the mown lawn thing they have going there but they seem to have left enough trees, grass and swamp for a variety of birds. Could be an Intermediate, I don't have it by that name in my books but was not game to call it a Little Egrat because it lacked the head plumes that were on another that it was fighting with the same morning.

Does the intermediate have a yellow or black beak?

Bundaberg, about 300ks north of Brisbane. On a clear day we can just see Fraser Island from the top of our only hill.
