Am posting these on behalf of Araminta who emailed them to me. She has a wonderful garden and gets the most beautiful birds butu for some reason she won't post them here... I think she must be technologically challenged :')
I think they are of a Striated thornbill, but another bad habit she has is not identifying them to me LOL
Beautiful shots Araminta .... just lovely , please post more.
Oh they're gorgeous! Such a lovely clear shot of the little bird, and the colour of the flower is stunning! Yes, please post more (or send more to Birdie to post).
Thanks Birdie and Andy, you are right , I am technologically challenged, and I don't think my photos are that good. Anyway thank you for giving me some more confidence. M-L

great photos, thornbills are such adorable little birds!
don't feel bad about being "technologically challenged"your not alone!evry time i get used to doing something a certain way they change it and im lost again, then i have get my 13
year old nephew to explan it to me again!
I stood with my mouth hanging open as my 8 year old granddaughter opened picaca selected the folders she wanted and loaded them onto a flashdisk and said i'll sort them out latter.
made me feel so OLD!!!!
Ah ha! I heard a rumour that you had got a camera and it's true! I've been waiting all this time for some photos to appear. Your photos ARE good. Sorry, I don't know what the birds are. It's good to see you have native plants for the birds
On a forum like this it doesn't matter if the photos aren't good anyway. This forum is more about sharing the find or the experience. That's why I often ramble on with a little story about what I did and what I thought. For me being there is what is important and seeing something new and exciting. It gives me the same thrill I used to get when I found a certain butterflyfish or nudibranch when I was diving.
I post plenty of photos that aren't very good because of the moment eg todays whistling kites aren't sharp or well exposed and they are heavily cropped because they are far away, but its the first time I've seen that behaviour and I love to share the experience with people who are interested.
So now you've broken the ice (or birdie's broken it for you), keep posting. We want to see your photos too
Araminta, if you think these are not good I cannot wait to see your good ones. Boy they are up with the best of them, they are crystal clear and perfect shots. Keep clicking that camera and keep posting we are waiting for more.
