This guy was among a group grazing beside a pathway at Dubbo Zoo. Taken at minimum focusing distance with a 500mm lens.
I find lots of native birds hang around at zoos even though they are not captive because it is a bit of a sanctuary and food is easy to come by.

No this was with a zoom and minimum distance would be around ten feet.
Another beautiful shot. I agree about the wild birds making themselves at hme. We saw ducks with ducklings in the lagoon in the cheetah enclosure
This one was taken near the Bongo, just across from the Tiger enclosure. I have some wrens taken in the mimosa near the Cheetah enclosure.
