Richard, these shots are amazing. Both birds have nice bright colours. Both super shots. I would love to see Alice Springs and the area around it and also those two birds.
Thanks Owen. Both are quite friendly so the birds made the shots, not the photographer! :-) I've been watching the weather down there, have you seen any blow-ins from the storm yesterday? Thinking ocean birds here.

Thanks for the commentsbirdie and narly. Narly, if you are coming from the north, the corner where the Tanami Road meets the Stuart Highway is a good spot. If you are coming from the south, there is a rest stop about 20 kms after Stuart's Well, closer to alice springs has also been a good spot in the past. Also Orange Creek where it crosses the highway, about 45 kms south of alice is worth having a look, no rest stop, just a bridge. Also, a grey falcon has been seen along the highway between Erldunda and alice so keep an eye out for that to. Feel free to ask for any more info, happy to share
