Wow, I went for a rainforest walk in Buderim this morning and the small birds were amazing.
This little rufous was so hard to catch and was really pretty
Eastern Yellow robin I think...
Saw another little bird with yellow feet that I will post under ID's as it is not a very good photo.
Fantastic place and the light was very flat as there was no direct sunlight overhead. Would have been a good day for I practising rainforest photography if I hadn't had others with me.

Well done Birdie, nice shots,I love the Rufous.
Nice work on these little guys.
Well done Birdie, the name Rufus Fantail just doesn't do them justus I reckon. A rather bland name for a stunning bird.

HI guys, thanks for that.
I was really disappointed with the shots but I did the best I could under the circumstances. Funny thing is I had a monopod I got for Xmas and I left it in the car but I doubt it would have been much help anyway as I've never seen such a flighty little bird. Working with a lens that has a minimum aperture of 5.6 means that you are limited in low light situations , add to that the need for manual focus and a pair of glasses ( new ones) that are a pain in the #$!@#$ because they get in the way of the camera all the time and it was challenging to say the least. I do have a dioptric adjustment set on camera but that doesn't help me spot the bird as it flits around! The best thing was that the rufous is so bright as are the robins that they stand out a lot amongst the greenery.
I am going back there next week and again as many times s it takes to get a good shot. Plenty of Aerogard and patience will be required I feel
:'D
Cheers
