Once the week long rain cleared on Saturday and I could see sunshine, I headed to my fave spot near Nepean Weir, Penrith. I was happy to hear some begging calls and two of these stunning little Silvereyes perched about 12m in front of me on a bare branch. Then a third one joined. The one in the middle is a juvenile as it was constantly begging for attention. It also looks just a touch smaller.
Here is a bigger image in my web gallery.
Just stunning Windhover!
Absolutely Beautiful!!!! Well done Windhover
From the stunning Yarra Vally Mountains!
Stunning Akos!! If the one in the middle is the juvenile, does that mean the young look just like the parents? Are there colour variations depending on the region they live in? The Silvereyes in my garden are more blue and green? Or do they change colours when breeding? M-L

Beautiful! I'm yet to get a nice photo of these guys. If I end up with one half as good as this I'll be happy!
I love Silvereyes. I hope more Aussie birds adapt as well as they have to urban environments.
Cheers,
Scott.
What a beautiful photo. I've seen them quite a bit, but only creeping around leaves so it's hard to get a clear shot
Beautiful shot Akos.... absolutely beautiful as usual :') I am glad you have posted it ...would be nice to see more from you occasionally ???

What a lovely family shot! I love silvereyes too, we have them in our garden. We have birdseye chilis, and would you believe they love them? no idea why, but we get groups of them plundering the little chilis!

Chillies? How odd! Makes me glad I just planted 3 chilli plants in my front garden ;)
Just had a Silvereye family with 2 young in the front yard. The babies nearly flew into me, then settled about 1.5 metres away from me. Lovely to get a long, close-up view of them (no camera though!), but I hope they're not so trusting of damn cats!
