I went for a walk along a pond in my suburb today and saw quite a few small birds. Nothing new, but nice to be out on a 21oC winter's day!
Grey fantail
Grey fantail stretching ... so cute
Grey fantail, windblown
Thornbill - I am wondering if it could be a striated thornbill because it had a definite striped look to the breast

Fantastic shots as always.
Aren't the fantail shots adorable. I absolutely love the stretching shot - made my day.
I'm not sure about what Thornbill that is but I am pretty certain you are correct with the Black-faced Cuckoo-Shrike.
Keep up the great shots, Birdgirl!

Yes fantastic as always!
I must admit i have a real soft spot for grey fantails i never tire of watching them flutter about.
second photo is another gem, keep them coming
Nice shots Birdgirl I can't see them all because I have work experience and had to force my way into this website from their computers because I am waiting for files to copy.
I'm sure the rest will be great too!
Cheers, Owen.
i love the stretching fantail. The thornbill is most likely a striated.
Cheers, Owen.
Great pic's Birdgirl.
Love them all. Those Grey fantails never seem to sit still for me.
I would guess a Straited thornbill as well.
Great variety, makes for a very enjoyable walk.
Yep, great shots alright. Love those Fairy Wrens. I used to spend hours photographing them when I lived in Victoria.
Great series of shots Kim and I love the grey fantail especially. Not sure about the thornbill as the brown has quite a lot of striation as well on the breast.
Good to see you have some blue skies again, though I had better luck with a dull sky today :')

Lovely birds, lovely sharp photos, the stretching fantail is great - looks like it is doing ballet!

I'm excited about the thornbill - if it is a striated that is a first for me
