Well cricklewood,it does look like a Superb Parrot(???), but I'm no expert on Parrots, we need some other people to have a close look. But, according to my books, it should not be present in Adelaide, and even in the rest of the country they are classified as "endangered". Was it just the one bird, or was there a small flock?
(I just had a look on the net, and shock-horror, some pet shops has a breeding pair for sale!?)
So, wait and see, what others say. In the meantime, welcome to the forum!
I have only seen this one male bird 3 times in the last two weeks. Never before had I seen it so I looked it up and saw it was maybe not supposed to be here.
Thats why I posted.
p.s.sorry the pic is so many mb
cheers
i have more photos if needed but all are very similar
Hi cricklewood, with your permission, would you like me to put up the photo of the parrot, so people can look at it without opening the Attachment? M-L

Welcome to Birds in Backyards, cricklewood.
Alas & alack a day, I fear that this is indeed a superb parrot, an escapee no doubt.

Yes, male Superb Parrot but almost cetainly a captive. would have been a thrill to see it.
Cheers, Owen.
Awesome, one of my favourite parrots! I'd be stoked if one of those rocked up in my backyard!(even if it was an escapee!).
Scott.
