I was delighted to discover the tawny family spent last night in my area again. Here they are perched in a casuarina tree just off my deck. I love these fluffballs!

Thats a great picture,even though everybody seems to be saying the tawnys are havivg a great breeding season I have not found any young so far this season... :-(

I confess it is the first time I have seen them in my yard. Last year I remember hearing the barking owls but not any other hooting or hooing. I only became seriously interested in my bird friends earlier this year, though I have always enjoyed the ones who come and visit. Now I make a point of spending time outside listening for newcomers every day.

Cute shot tiffany. It's nice to have them visit the garden. Three pairs have now fledged young in our local park.

I would so love to see them Tiff, I have only ever seen Tawnies once or twice but never any chicks. You are very lucky.
