It's easy to see why most people don't notice tawny frogmouths - they even have lichen patterns on their feathers. I visited the park yesterday and no-one was sitting on the nest, which worried me, but the mate was in its usual spot

Tawny frogmouth camouflage
Gorgeous birds aren't they? Saturday night I had two fledged ones with an adult feeding them. Very cool. It is really hard to photograph them when they are high in a tree, :(
Great shots Birdgirl. Keep up the good work
there is a pair nesting in a reserve near my home,i see them cumming and going but once there back in there tree it's like there invisible very frustrating, i stand with camera ready nothing, drove past in the car 10pm there they sitting on a post 30feet from the road,i think there laughing at me!
Beautiful Birdgirl.... and the camouflage is amazing isn't it?

They certainly blend in well with that tree. Great shots!
