Tempting the Catbirds

I thought I would get inventive to try to get the catbirds to perch in a more convenient place ..... had the desire to get them near the Pointsettia ( green and red looks so nice :') )
SO I laid a trail of grapes and they soon got the hang of things ! These were shot through the window so not perfect but heaps of fun.

Had to spear the grapes to slow them down ...ha ha

oops....made a perch that was not strong enough for their weight and it collapsed..... they didn't lose the grapes though

hmmmm I'll have three thanks very mich....

Thank you and ...goodbye :')

Great series of shots, love the idea and the sequence :D You certainly are lucky to have them around!
By the way, is your profile link fixed yet out of curiosity?

Thanks Amateur, and no it is still useless. I am so over looking at that ugly little baby LOL I had quite forgotten actually that these pics are of t now that it is older :)
The CBs came down this morning but it was too early for me to have planted the food so they had a quick check and went back to their nest area. they'll be back when it warms up though and they won't be disappointed. I sure hope that grapes never go up to the same price as bananas LOL

You are so lucky to have these birds in your backyard. They have amazing colours and great idea with the green and red colours.

Cheers, Owen.

Absolutely fascinating Birdie! Adrienne the "catbird whisperer" communicating with food, a common platform! As I have never seen a catbird , are they very intelligent, or is there something special going on between you and those birds? What ever it is, just beautiful! M-L

Here are the next lot ...

Had to be very inventive to make it hard for them to take easily.

He is such a good looking bird. Well done on so many good shots Birdie. It must be great to see them in your own yard.

Cheers, Owen.

Thanks Owen and Elle.. I am going to stop posting them but will still continue to record their antics as it is a lot of fun. I have started a new set on Flickr and will upload to there from time to time if I get a good one. Am also going to try to get a video of the behaviour as it is very cute :')
