I was watching a pair of whistling kites today and one flew away for a while. The other stayed at the top of a dead tree (about 20m tall) about 40-50m away from me
The other one flew back into sight but landed in a tree about 100m away from me. It was eating something with long red strings
It flew back to its mate. I could see something in its talons and red on its beak
It landed beside the other one and I think it gave it the food because the closest one has red on its head

Whoops! One flew to a different branch
They both started calling and flew up and around each other. I was hoping to see a courtship flight but I think they were just flying together

It's just amazing how you always find more BOPs, Birdgirl!I saw a Swamp Harrier beeing attacked by a smaller BOP on the weekend at the Coolart Wetlands, but they were far to high in the sky for my lens, no photo worth taking. I love your photos, and the stories you tell! Thanks, M-L

Brilliant shots Birdgirl, and a tale to match.
