I was driving down the very steep hill to my house this evening just before dusk when I nearly drove off the road after seeing 7-8 White headed pigeons just hanging out on the power lines. I did a u-ey and had a look, then couldn't stand it and shot home grabbed the camera and returned to fine them obligingly waiting for me.
This juvenile had definite markings that were quite different

For those of you who live in the city and think that I must spend all day driving to rainforests etc to find my birds I thought I would enclose this picture of the nearby remnant and regrowth subtropical forest that I take in on my walks very often.(about 700m from my home)

Great shots birdie, arent you lucky to have that so close to home. Sorta the country in the city.
Yep ... thanks Cathshane... very lucky to live with such diversity. Unfortunately we pay the price though when it comes to finding employment..... that is why I have so much time to chase birds. :) Tried paying the rent with bird shots but the landlord just won't be in that! LOL
