I caught these two on my afternoon walk a few days ago. If anyone had any doubts about the strength of these birds, I think these two shots will dispel them. They are a gorgeous creature and I had the pleasure of standing about three metres from one this morning. He flew off to join the rest of the flock and passed barely a wingspan from me. A great birding moment.

Steve, yes they were pulling some type of grub from the wattles. The branch in the second shot has now snapped due to the high winds we've had in Melb. The whole park is littered with broken branches because the Y-t BCs have been searching for grubs during the last two months, or so.

Hi George, that does not surprise me at all. My mate Steve has a Sulphur Crested that he used to lock in his tool shed whilst he built an aviary, and by way of revenge "Charlie" ate a bloody great hole in the concrete floor.
