I was out at the WTP last weekend and came across a very patient and co-operative Black-shouldered Kite. A few other birds were good to me too. Hope you enjoy.

Wow George .... they are superb! Hev is unable to check them out just now but she will be back on line in the next week or so hopefully. But I know she will be seriously envious of that lot I can tell you! That cisticola is to die for ! :)same for the field wren and the chat ...and for that matter the others too!!!!
Thanks for sharing another lot of your beautiful shots. As I am currently nearly finished the Big twitch I am enjoying realting the pics I see to his very amusing anecdotes about Birdwatching.
Cheers George

Ahh i see. Thats odd to have a such a wide variety is.... Well as you said... A Poo Farm. :)
Quote from "the big twitch' by Sean Dooley...
"make no mistake, a trip to Werribee is one of the most spectacular experiences this country has to offer. Almost three hundred species of bird have been recorded on the farm itself, but even more impressive is their sheer abundance"

G'day QLDBird,
.
as birdie has mentioned, the Western Treatment Plant is near Werribee, west of Melbourne. One hundred species in a day is possible at this location.

Hev has promised me a trip there for a day out whenever I finally get to Melbourne to visit her. Sounds so funny.... come to the sewerage farm with me for the day.

Nice series there, I was almost about to say that I wish I lived there until I remembered what is was :) Especially love the fieldwren with the dragonfly, nice catch!
Great photos George...canberra sewage/sewerage ponds are also great...often see Pink-eared Duck, Blue-billed Duck, Hoary-headed Grebe, and many others...keep up the good work!
don't forget to have a hoot!
btw, if anyone knows how to get rid of their avatar, please tell me, mine's screwed up and i'd rather not have one

What a wonderful set of photos. THe small birds are incredibly sharp. I love the one of the Striated Fieldwren with its catch of the day
Great shots. Haven't taken shots at the sewerage farm but I hear there are a lot of brown trout swimming around too. (though you wouldn't want to catch them!)
Love the shots from torquay, looks like you have a fair camera set up.
Great shots george, we are looking forward to visit there one day soon. Keep them coming there are great.
Your photos are outstanding. Not only are the subjects interesting but the sharpness of the photos is amazing. What camera did you take them with?

Should have known they would be Canon photos :-) I have had the 400D for 3 years, would love to upgrade but can't at present - guess the lens is more important than the body?

oh George they are beautiful, thank you for posting them, my favourite is the BSK, aren't they just gorgeous?
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
