Aren't they pretty little birds! We didn't know about Dan Stiller reserve, sounds like a good place to visit with a thermos of coffee, a sandwich and a couple of chairs! You have had some very nice shots from there.
Firstly thankyou for re-sizing the pix whoever did so.
Meave, yes Dan Stiller is one of the birding gems of Brisbane we believe - 77 species seen by us so far and the BQ list compiled several years ago has 114 species. It is quite a big site at 122ha, with no access to internal roads (except those used my 4wd's and trail bike riders), so walking boots and a backpack are probably a better bet than a chair and thermos for most of it. The Eastern side alone is probably a 3 - 4 hour excursion to cover comprehensively on foot. I have had contact with BCC and with their support have started mapping the tracks with a GPS logger, as they do not have such a map yet. I am very happy to pass on a rough mud map and access directions to anyone who would like them - and the more accurate map once I have completed the task.
Sorry, forgot to re-size it
Sorry, again don't know what has happened .....Re-sizing has not worked :(

Cool shot. I only managed really crap ones when I saw them.
Must be a bit of a loser if it's the Essendon bird! LOL no harm meant!
Cheers, Owen.
Sighted a red backed fairy wren at Wonglepong ( East of Canungra Qld) 27th November 2015 at 3p.m.
Very dainty bird and very pretty in it's breeding plumage
