By the stormwater drain on my walk

Finally managed to have a camera on the day that this spoonbill was in the stream. Still managed to do something wrong though, as I was in the middle of stalking him and the camera ran out of room on the card Grrr! It is these basic things that still trip me up just when I thinking I have it all sussed. SO as I was busy deleting the spoonbill got up and flew away , as did the heron and the rail just bolted into his nest !

White faced heron

buff banded rail

And my walk would never be complete without the pair of Tawnies

Lol Birdie, it does get annoying when I leave the card in the slot and my camera has to run off internal memory, I imagine a very annoying time! (Around 17 shots). Also makes me remember an interesting sign i saw at the local reserve - black billed spoonbill and large black cormorant - aka royal spoonbill and great cormorant, I still can't believe that sign was allowed to go ahead. You still did well with some really nice photos, especially the spoonbills and tawnies, though I did see the last photo and wonder for a second, "what is that a photo of?", until I saw the tawny, they camoflague so well!

Ha ha Amateur... that was the idea of putting the last one there. You have no idea how many days I have passed by looking for their new roost.... had to have somebody point them out to me as I just couldn't see them.

Great lot of shots for all your troubles. My trick is to run out of batteries

Funny Amateur, that was my experience exactly when I was taking the pic!

Birdgirl. i am finding that just when you think you have one problem logged in your brain, something else crops up that you hadn't thought of. But I guess that is what sets the pros apart.... been there done that and have the failures to prove it!! :) Plus the quality lenses etc
