Wow, a lucky replacement for a bee-eater. If I missed a shot for a bee-eater i'd be spewing! Nice work to get at least him, still, I love the Rainbow Bee=eater, such a lovely mix of colours.
Exquisite Ed once again, both subject and technique!! I'd kill to be able to see such different looking little birds.
I priced a 100 - 400L on the weekend but at $2400 I'm going to have to practise technique with what I've got for quite a while longer I think!!
Well done Ed and please keep them coming, I love to be able to share your experiences.

Absolutely beautiful shot of an absolutely beautiful bird. Well done Ed.

Stunning Ed, what amazing colours. Beautiful sharp photo. Thanks.
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
I'd be very happy to photograph this one as a consolation for missing the Bee-eater. Is this a full frame shot ? Beautiful bird and beautiful shot.
Cheers,

Thanks all. Another shot, same bird, not as 'sharp' as the other shot but shows the colours in his bib much better.
George, not full frame about half the original size.
Birdie, I paided just under $2000 about 18 months ago.Keep saving...
