Had a full day birding for the first time in a long time so made the most of it.
Started at Harts Rd Wetlands South of Adelaide then Aldinga Scrub, Onkaparinga Recreation Park and finished at Oaklands Wetlands at dusk. Saw a great variety of birds and had a magic time.
Harts Rd - Darter preen
Aldinga Scrub - Mistletoebird
Aldinga Scrub - Magpie
Onkaparinga - Cockatiel, escapee I imagine, though timid.
Pedlars Creek - Flock of Seagulls :-)
Onkaparinga - Brown Quail
Oaklands - Pink-eared Duck
Sounds like you had a great day. For some reason I really like the pic of all the gulls

Yes, I did too. Especially considering there is at least one "Where'sWally?" in there.
Don't tell. ;-)
Hi Rick,
For the first time ever I also had the opportunity to dedicate much of last weekend to birding and could not believe how rewarding it could be. As a newcomer to this forum I am truly inspired by the quality of photographs from yourself and others here and this set is no different. Certainly sets the bar high and gives a novice like me something to aspire too.

Ooh, found it! I never would have noticed it if you hadn't told me :)
Now that photo is about 10 times cooler

Great set of photos .... like the pink eared duck
Sounds like a good day out. I'm going to go with WD and choose the Pink Eared Duck, love these sort of eye level shots. I found the Black Winged Stilt......eventually.

Great range of shots and great quality as normal Rick. It took me a long while but I finally got the stilt. Was fun. The Pink-eared duck is my fav as well.
