Sorry all, we have had server issues since late Friday - this morning is the first time I have been able to log in to the site all week. We won't worry about Bird of the Week this week and will instead pick it up again next week
My next door neighbours and I seem to be sharing the effects of a nesting Brush Turkey at the moment - they have the nest and I have lost most of my mulch.
I'll post pics soon, as the mound he has built is huge!
Gosh, I think I just have one photo of this bird. I will dig it up.
I like making these challenging
Akos you might need to head over to the northern suburbs to take some snaps...
I have more than a few pics, here are 2
#1 Woodgate, Qld in Nov '11 - I think that he is pretending to be shy
#2 Kumbartcho Centre, Brisbane in Jan '12 - just swinging in the breeze
Peter
This one was seen on its own and I saw two huge mounds that it had built, a very busy bird indeed.

I missed this one, but I wouldn't have had a photo for it anyway. Have never seen one of these birds. Great shots Shane. And Alex I like yours too.

Thanks Kathie, I am surprised that you haven't seen one of these yet, but I am sure you will.

Shane
I'll have to research them to see if there are any around where I live. Never seen one ever but I'll be looking out for sure.

So it wasn't just me then?? I even had trouble logging in today.
Jackie, I was not able to even see the site for at least a week if not longer.
Good to know, thanks Akos
