HAPPY BIRD WEEK EVERYONE
Its a massive week for us here and hopefully everyone has a little more incentive to get out and see their local bird life
I thought what better theme for this week than to have a celebration of your Backyard Birds. I will be a bit loose with the definitiion of 'backyard' lets just share our favourite photos of birds from your actual backyard or some other place that feels like home.
Everyone remember to wait a turn before posting again but I hope to see lots and lots of photos.
Don't forget to go to www.aussiebirdcount.org.au to submit your Aussie Backyard Bird surveys this week as well.

We have a huge Morton bay Fig tree on our land and this year it has attracted hundreds of these Figbirds. Not always easy to photograph them as they disappear in the foilage most of the time.

One of the Juvi Black-shouldered Kites was at the wetlands on the weekend.
He is almost in adult plumage and his eyes have a nice orange colour now.

Lovely photos everyone!! This beautiful Tawny Frogmouth comes and sits on our deck every night. He is quite friendly, although he doesn't like to be woken up He goes hunting for mice and quite often brings them right up to eat them on our railings!
This photograph shows how dry it is here at the moment and it seems to be continually drier each year and for longer periods..

I was photographing this guy from my back yard, then he flew onto the neighbours fence.
I love this shot because of the contrasting colours.
I agree, it's a great shot! They are so hard to catch in the open.

In my house backyard, we have a small family of Spotted Pardalotes who regulary use our nectarine tree as a stop over perch. Always a rush to be the first outside when we hear them.

Red-browed Finch feeding on the seeds of the Cobblers Pegs. That is erm, just before I pulled the plant out, put it in a plastic bag and disposed of it (in case Woko is reading this).

A pair of cockatiels in the house paddock at our farm. Awwwwww

At my favorite wetlands this morning a paddle boarder came up the creek ( boating is not permitted but nobody seems to care ).
But i guess i can't complain as i had 5 Night Herons flying around me and in the end landing quite close giving me excellent views and quite a few in flight shots.
