In our recent trip to western NSW we visited the beautiful city of Bourke on the Darling River. These are some of the species we found there. Red-rumped parrot, Common Starling, Emu chicks, Whistling Kite, White-necked heron, Pelican, Darter, Emu and chicks.
Super set alcatraz. Love the Emu chicks and the RR Parrots
Fantastic set Alcatraz, like Dev those emu and RR parrots shots are brilliant.
Really also like that front Pelican shot as well, the way its captured the colours/markings under the bill
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
Ditto the emu shots, so cute.

Those emu chicks are show stealers!
Nice set of photos .... i like the light and pose captured of the whistling kite
Thanks Devo. The Emu chicks are beyond cute. They and mum are usually pretty flighty tho. RR parrots had their nest in a tree above our free camp on the Darling River. So, we were neighbours! Cheers.
Thanks Devster, Laza, Elizabeth and WD for your kind comments. Next comes the pinnacle of our recent trip - Bowra. Cheers
That mum might be a dad. It's dad who rares the chicks.
Well picked up Woko
Thanks Woko! I must admit my knowledge of the emu is quite limited. Looked big enough to be a blokemu. Cheers
Gotta love 'em Emus

Aiming for DSLR-quality shots with a bridge camera
Thanks Ryu. Dead right. They are very impressive and the chicks are simply beautiful. They live in such harsh conditions. Cheers
