I spotted a black faced cuckoo shrike on its nest high up in a tree at a local park .... they must have read the nest building instructions for cuckoo shrikes in the bird book as they have done it just right .. "more than 20metres up in a tall tree... built on an open exposed part of a limb, blended into the angle of a fork usually of quite thick limbs .. small, shallow and saucer shaped".
Hope i can get some more pics after the eggs hatch
Wow, it's amazing that the nest stays up there, it looks like it is in a very precarious spot. But, I guess it must work if Black Faced Cuckoo Shrikes always build their nests in a fork...
Clever little Shrikes doing all that study to get it right
