Black Shouldered KIte

An immature Black Shouldered KIte at Woo-la-ra hill at Sydney Olympic Park, near the information sign telling visitors which raptors they can see in the area.

Actually managed to get a clear shot of birds face through the casuarinas!

Looks scary - but just stretching and yawning

Hovering while hunting

Bonus Welcome Swallow!

At same place an adult BS Kite caught a lizard

Also at same spot, a brown goshawk flew at low level up the hill almost directly at me -  didnt have the camera ready, but got a few shots as he circled upwards above me.

Great photos!

Obviously these birds read the sign so knew where to hang out! Nice of them to be so cooperative!

I love the action of the fifth shot and the portrait in the first one. The brown goshawk photos shows nice details of the feathers.

Thanks for sharing!

Some great shots there WD. You captured the markings and facial expression on the brown Goshawk well.
