Which one and whats up with the string on its leg? It was pictured around Hervey Bay, QLD.
Black-shouldered Kite. Not a great photo, but the black eye patch looks like it goes back behind the eye, & Letter-winged very unlikley on the coast.
The string on its leg is probably some grass caught in it's talons after it caught or attemted to catch some prey.
