Nice work Peter I am yet to see these type, they are hard to spot.
Regards
Shane
that they are a small, well camoflauged bird that is somewhat hard to spot
Peter
Good one mate.
Goodness Pete, I only just noticed the Dotterel in that 2nd shot , at first I couldnt work it out....great comparison with the sizes they must be about the same size as the Red Capped Plovers I saw up at Woodgate a few years ago.... I was looking at one on the beach and didnt even realise it was a bird!!!!!! Very sweet to catch stuff as small as that
Sunshine Coast Queensland
yes, the guide suggests 16-18 cm
small size and good camoflauge makes for hard to find bird, for me at least
Peter
Hey Peter..did you delete your size comparison shot? I cant see it here now.. Well the most amazing thing for me happened today..I saw two of these tiny little darlings !!! I thought it was just a piece of fluff ... didnt realise what I was looking at till it did its mad run across the mud LOL . I found the pair in the same wetlands that me and Karlbob got our Spoonbill etc...and now they have nearly dried up ...so there are different types of birds I guess.
Sunshine Coast Queensland
and aren't they great birds to find
I think that I must not have paid my subs as every 2nd and subsequent pic in 1 post has been deleted
Peter
