I was out birding today and got this pic on Upsalls Creek Rd near Kendall, NSW
It is not real close so I will include 2 file pics - 1st from Macleans Ridges, Lismore, NSW in 9/11 and the 2nd from Vallances Rd, Mullumbimby, NSW in 10/11

Wonderful pics. I've neither seen nor heard of this bird. I can almost see those feathers gleam in the sunlight.

Like Karen I haven't seen one, I just read that they are a rainforest bird, no wonder I haven't. Intersting looking dove.

Nice photos Peter, I got some photos of about 6 up in the rainforest at Goomburra last year, they were feeding on the ground so I didn't get a good look at the underside of them. Your photos depict the underside well, so thanks for sharing.
