Brown honeyeater

These birds are prolific over here so its a matter of finding a flower and then waiting a few minutes for a brown honeyeater to land on it.

Gorgeous bird and flower. What is it? A protea?

I'm pretty sure it's Acorn Banksia Banksia prionotes. It grows naturally on the WA coast near & a bit inland from Perth.

A nice flower that he landed on. I wish that I had one this good. Despite being common, I have very few acceptable images of this species.

Great photo Headsie, portraying the environment that it was shot in, with the beautiful flower. Which I had a garden with a heap of these in it.
