Went out to my local for 3 hrs the other day and came across many birds but the highlight of the day was getting closer to these Buff-rumped Thornbills than i have ever previously. I also took some decent shots of Restless Flycatchers, Straited Thornbills, Bell Miners, Variegated/Superb fairy wrens, Eastern Yellow Robins, King Parrots, Wattle Birds, kookaburra's and a few others but i'll post these later. Too many keepers to post in a single topic :)

Magnificent photos as always. I especially love the facial expression of the first two and the detail in the 5th!!

Aiming for DSLR-quality shots with a bridge camera
Some magnificent quality photographs there Vas. Especially like the 5th one in amongst the branches.
Samford Valley Qld.
Excellent shots - cute little birds. Thats a great "local" you have for variety of bird life.
Thank you Hellobirdy, Reflex and WD for the comments.
My local is Mulgoa NR which is pretty important to preserve in my opninion due to the shrinking cumberland plain woodlands as it holds homes for endangered mammals etc. It is not the best birding location but still can be very rewarding to walk through.

These are great shots as normal Vas. Love the BR Thornbill, yet to encounter one. It does feel good when you get a lot of keepers doesn't it.
