Large (30cm approx) body, looks like a bird of prey, but with straight beak and vivid yellow bill and feet, see photo. Possible a refugee from the floods further north, but new to us

Thought that too at first glance, but this one fails on 3 counts;
Too big
By itself
Wrong behaviour, it stayed in that tree for about 15 minutes constantly on the lookout as would a bird of prey
It's an India Myna.
