Had a short holiday in the ACT to catch up with some old airforce friends and see a bit of NSW coast.
Wasnt expecting to get much birding done but was pleasantly and happily to see a few choice birds around the Canberra lake / Floriade and at Bateman bay.
No photos but also ticked off Yellow tail BCs, Gang gang Cockatoo female and King parrots
Also deligthed to see my first male Fairy wren carrying abit of flower around during springtime who was happy enough to pose for me
Any idea from my learned Eastern enthusiasts about ID of the last two photos ?
thanks
Nice variety of birds.
The last birds is a Brown Cuckoo-Dove
The second last is a Red-Rumped Parrot
Many thanks Dev

Sounds a great break. Lovely photos.
Great set of shots laza, those last two would be new for me. You did well to have the male wren sit still long enough to pose for you. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the east.
Glad you enjoyed visiting Canberra. Floriade definately isn't the best place for birds though, with all those people.
I didn't happen to be performing on stage 88?

Canberra
Aiming for DSLR-quality shots with a bridge camera
Thanks Ryu
I was very impressed with some of music at Floriade though i was probably more distracted by the chocolate coated strawberry kebabs :)
Funny enough I actually got the shots of the Sacred Kingfisher and Fairy Wren at one of water features behind the gnome painting area
