Found these 2 on Comerong Island near Nowra NSW. Any help would be good thanx in advance. Both the Stubble and Brown Quail have red eyes, but these seem to have black.

Brown Quail would be my best bet because of how common they are, as opposed to Stubble. I'm guessing that this pair is male and female (the female being larger) and neither of them show extensive black... especially on the breast as vertical streaks.
One good way to separate the two species is by the way they land. When flushed, watch and the BrownQ will land head first (like a dive bomb into the grass) and the StubbleQ will land bottom first (like a plane).
